Who the hell are you?

Name's Matías (/ma'ti.as/ you're allowed to pronounce it muh-TIE-ahs /mə'taɪ.əs/), but I often refer to myself as Nik cos I don't like using my real name online that much. I'm a third-year Computer Science student in UTEC based in Lima, Peru.

Do you like anything?

Well, programming. I know Python and C++ well enough, and Java, Typescript, Verilog, RISC-V ASM and Visual Basic to some lesser extent. I particularly like Ruby for some god forsaken reason even though I barely got to have a crack at it. I enjoy lower level programming more.

I particularly like subjects I'm pretty bad at. I'd be happy to learn anything about Theory of Algorithms, and I'm also quite interested in the History of the Internet, looking forward to the Networks course in my university. Computer Architecture was hell on Earth for me for its difficulty curve, but a curve I enjoyed skating the hell of. Pretty fond of Theory of Computation too (wanted to be a TA but my grade wasn't enough to become one...). I may be excruciatingly slow at grasping concepts in all of these subjects (except CompTheory), but I really do enjoy learning and taking my time on them. It's the small things!

I'm also a sucker for mathematics (mostly integration) and linguistics (mostly conlanging).

Whatcha working on?

Currently, not much. Small projects only.
